Spider-Man No Way Home Trailer Leaks Doctor Strange's Multiverse Concept
Marvel finally released the first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home on Tuesday (24/08/2021). In the trailer uploaded on the Marvel Entertainment Youtube channel, it is seen that the film will carry the concept of a multiverse.
The concept of the multiverse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has actually started since the Avengers: End Game movie. However, at that time the concept that was introduced was only limited to time travel to the past.
Marvel then tried to ripen the multiverse concept again in the Wandavision and Loki series. The animated series What If…? which premiered some time ago also carries the multiverse theme.
In the three-minute trailer, Peter Parker's life becomes chaotic after his identity is leaked by Mysterio. In addition, he is now hated by the public because he is considered the killer of Mysterio.
Unable to stand the situation he was in, Peter Parker tried to find a solution to this problem. He then came to see Doctor Strange.
“Ever since Mysterio leaked my identity, my whole life has fallen apart. I wonder, can you make that never happen?” Peter Parker asked Doctor Strange.
Doctor Strange agreed to Peter Parker's request. He has a spell that can fix things, making everyone forget Spider-Man's true identity.
Wong had previously warned Doctor Strange not to use the spell. But Doctor Strange did it anyway.
"We're messing with the stability of space and time," Doctor Strange says in the trailer.
He then continued, “Multiverse is a concept that we know little about.”
In addition to the multiverse concept, the trailer also shows that Spider-Man's old nemesis will be making a comeback. Doctor Octopus, for example, the villain in the Spider-Man 2 (2004) movie will return to fight with Peter Parker.
The appearance of Doctor Octopus has made fans speculate that Tobey Maguire's version of Spider-Man will appear in this film. In addition, there are also rumors that Andrew Garfield's version of Spider-Man will also appear.
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, as adapted from Cnet, said Spider-Man: No Way Home will continue with the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness film, which is planned for release in March 2022.
